Compare with a controller

Compare the displayed engineering value with the calculated value.

Enter a controller reading to compare.

The tolerance is yours to set, not a manufacturer specification.

Linear signals only. Match the device’s configured range. A value being “in range” does not prove the device or wiring is healthy.

Small tool. Straight math.

Signal → value: enter the measured electrical signal and the two engineering values it maps to.

Value → signal: enter the target engineering value to calculate the signal that would represent it. The app does not generate or inject that signal.

fraction = (signal − signal min) / (signal max − signal min)
value = start value + fraction × (end value − start value)

Reverse range swaps the engineering endpoints. Out-of-range results are extrapolated, never silently clamped. The visual bar stops at its ends; the numeric result does not.

Examples are sample setups, not device defaults. This tool does not model thermistors, RTDs, square-root flow extraction, or nonlinear sensors. A signal already scaled linearly to CFM is supported; raw differential-pressure-to-airflow conversion is not.

Controller comparison reports controller minus expected value. Percentage error is divided by the absolute engineering span. The default ±1% tolerance is only an editable starting point.

Local by design. Settings are saved on this browser. Shared links contain the setup in a URL fragment. No analytics, accounts, cloud saves, or device access. The web server still receives normal page requests and may log them.

Offline use: load the deployed HTTPS app and wait for “Offline ready” before losing connectivity. Browser storage may be cleared or evicted. The standalone HTML also works without internet. Installation depends on browser support.

For trained controls personnel. Use your device documentation and approved measurement procedures. This is a calculation aid, not a calibration certificate.
